Norwegian Association of Montreal

The Norwegian Association of Montreal is a vibrant cultural organization dedicated to celebrating Norwegian heritage and building community connections in Lachine, QC and the Greater Montreal area. Based at the Norwegian Community Centre in Lachine, the association offers a comprehensive range of programs and events designed to unite Norwegians, Canadians of Norwegian descent, and friends of Norway. The organization facilitates Norwegian language classes, cultural events, theatre evenings, and recreational activities including soccer matches that appeal to both members and non-members alike. Throughout the year, the association organizes signature celebrations such as Constitution Day festivities featuring flag parades and traditional refreshments, the beloved Shrimp Party, family ski days, seasonal BBQs, and the highly anticipated Annual Christmas Sale showcasing authentic Norwegian food, chocolate, Dale sweaters, pewter, jewelry, and homemade delicacies. The Norwegian Community Centre, owned and maintained by dedicated members, provides essential facilities including a large community hall and church, enabling the organization to host diverse events year-round.
